The Hollis Prize is the highest honor given to a vocal or instrumental performer at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ University.

First awarded in 2003, the Hollis Prize represents the highest form of recognition bestowed upon a vocal or instrumental performer at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ University. The Hollis prize is unique among undergraduate music competitions for its recital performance format and rigorous audition process.

Students compete in a semi-final round for the chance to perform before a live audience in the Competition Recital. The winner of this recital receives a monetary award of $3,000 and an opportunity to perform a solo Winner’s Recital at the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, Ill.; runners-up receive cash awards of $1,000 & $500.

The annual competition is made possible by Dr. C. Kimm Hollis, a 1972 Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ graduate and retired department chair, Professor of Music, and Artist in Residence Emeritus at Hanover College in Hanover, IN. 

Free and open to the public. 

About Kaeuper Hall     
Located in the Perkinson Music Center, Kaeuper Hall is a 167-seat auditorium ready to host many types of performances from individual recitals and opera rehearsals to guest performances and intimate concerts. Recently renovated, Kaeuper Hall features state-of-the-art technology for multimedia productions, sound-dampening curtains, improved lightings and a five-octave marimba, all while maintaining the original beauty of the space.
