DECATUR, Ill. – Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ University first-year students will be performing community service at various locations around the Decatur, Ill., community on Thursday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon as part of the University’s experience.
This year, ADM and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ University are partnering for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Annual Day of Service. ADM volunteers will work alongside first-year Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ students to help with community service activities throughout the Decatur area.
The partnership is made possible through the charitable organization, which works to sustain and strengthen the communities where ADM’s employees work and live by directing funding to organizations that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental change.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ students and volunteers will perform community service at the following locations in the Decatur area:
- Illinois Children’s Museum
- Northeast Community Fund
- James Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Homestead
- Beautify Decatur
- African American Genealogical Society
- Oakwood Business District
- Good Samaritan Mercy Gardens
- God’s Shelter of Love
- Block by Block
- Salvation Army
- MU Food Pantry
- Dennis Garden
Students and volunteers will gather at Fairview Park at noon to celebrate with service and have lunch.
The Day of Service is a key component of New Student Welcome Week which gives new students a blend of essential information for classes and life on campus, as well as social opportunities with your peers and faculty. It is the best opportunity to experience what Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ offers before coursework begins.
