�鶹Լ��’s commitment to these priorities is already evident in the University's recent accomplishments: 

Strengthening the Student Experience Through Enrollment Growth 

Enrollment remains a top institutional priority, and both first-time undergraduate and transfer numbers continue to trend upward. �鶹Լ��’s recruitment efforts are helping position the institution to welcome the newest incoming class while expanding opportunities for students to engage in the University’s signature education. 

These efforts reflect a broader commitment to becoming increasingly student-ready by ensuring students encounter a supportive, accessible, and engaging educational experience from recruitment through graduation. The University also continues to explore opportunities to serve emerging student populations, broadening access to a �鶹Լ�� education while strengthening the institution’s future. 

Philanthropic Support Fuels Progress 

The momentum experienced across campus is also reflected in the generosity of alumni, donors, and friends who continue to invest in �鶹Լ��’s future.  

This year, the University celebrated a $3.3 million gift from the estate of Helen Cox Kersting ’56, a testament to the lasting impact planned giving can have on future generations of students. Gifts such as these provide critical support for scholarships, academic programs, and institutional priorities while helping ensure �鶹Լ��’s continued strength for years to come. 

In addition, as part of the University’s 125th anniversary celebration, the �鶹Լ�� community came together for the , the institution’s annual day of giving in support of students. Donors contributed more than $685,000, nearly doubling the University’s goal of $350,000.

The success of these efforts reflects a growing investment in �鶹Լ��’s future and belief in the transformative power of a �鶹Լ�� education. Philanthropic support remains essential to expanding access through scholarships, enhancing the student experience, and advancing strategic priorities.

Partnerships Create New Opportunities 

Strategic partnerships continue to connect the �鶹Լ�� community with organizations throughout the region. 

The University continues to strengthen its longstanding relationship with Decatur Memorial Hospital through the creation of the Memorial/�鶹Լ�� Nursing Scholars Program, creating opportunities that support workforce development, healthcare education, and experiential learning while helping address critical workforce needs in Central Illinois. 

�鶹Լ��'s new MBA Direct Admit partnership with Blackburn College offers a direct pathway into �鶹Լ��'s MBA Program for qualified Blackburn students, expanding educational opportunities while helping develop the business and leadership talent needed in today’s workforce. 

The University has also expanded innovative collaborations beyond traditional higher education partnerships, including that of the Decatur Bean Ballers. As the home of Decatur's new Prospect League franchise, Workman Family Baseball Field will host the team while creating opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience through internships and experiential learning.

Celebrating the Class of 2026 

�鶹Լ�� students serve as the center of the institution’s progress. At Commencement, the University celebrated more than 250 graduates who demonstrated the power of Performance Learning. As they crossed the stage and joined �鶹Լ��’s network of alumni, graduates carried forward the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained through their time on campus. 

Commencement serves as a reminder of the University's purpose: preparing students for professional success, democratic citizenship, and lives of meaning and value. Each graduate represents the outcome of a student-centered education designed to foster lifelong growth and community engagement. 

Looking Ahead 

As �鶹Լ�� enters its next 125 years, the University is building upon a strong foundation. Growth in enrollment, philanthropy, and community partnerships positions �鶹Լ�� to continue serving students and communities in transformative ways. 

Guided by its Strategic Plan and President Pribbenow's four imperatives, �鶹Լ�� is honoring its tradition while embracing new opportunities for transformation. As the University moves forward — Forever Blue — it does so with confidence, purpose, and a commitment to serving students and communities for generations to come.
