DECATUR, Ill. — The Decatur Indoor Sports Center (DISC) – the 87,000-square-foot recreation hub on campus – celebrated its 25th anniversary with a week of activities that highlighted the facility’s evolving role as both a University partner and a Decatur destination for fitness and fun. The anniversary was also honored by the Decatur Regional Chamber of Commerce’s annual Chamber Celebration on Wed., Oct. 29, 2025.

Construction on the DISC project began in 1999, with the facility opening in 2000, laying the groundwork for a 25-year collaboration that benefits students and the community alike. Built as a joint project of the Decatur Park District and Â鶹ԼÅÄ University, the DISC has been a focal point for intramurals and indoor training for Big Blue programs while serving the broader Decatur community.

Key features include a competition-grade track, basketball and volleyball courts, a rock-climbing wall, indoor golf space, a renovated fitness center, and a new H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training) room.
