DECATUR, Ill. – As continues its 125th anniversary celebration, two new street signs now help mark the University's presence within one of Decatur's most historic neighborhoods.

Recently installed at the intersections of Fairview Avenue and Main Street, and Oakland Avenue and Main Street, the signs were generously donated through a partnership between and the City of Decatur. The signs serve as a visible reminder of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's longstanding connection to the community and its role in shaping Decatur's history since its founding in 1901.

The installation of the new signs comes during Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's yearlong 125th anniversary celebration, which honors the University's legacy of academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement. Throughout 2026, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ has been recognizing key moments in its history while looking ahead to its future through special events, campus initiatives, and community partnerships.

In addition to the new street signs, commemorative 125th anniversary banners now line portions of the campus, further highlighting this milestone year.
