ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ University & Lincoln Land Community College Announce Agreement to Simplify Transfer Process

The agreement is effective for the 2024-2025 academic year.

DECATUR, Ill. – In a  between  and , LLCC graduates can be automatically accepted to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ and complete their bachelor’s degree in two years with full-time enrollment, providing a seamless transfer experience for students. 

LLCC students who wish to transfer to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ will be provided with a plan of study, as well as automatic acceptance into a ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ baccalaureate degree program upon successful completion of an Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), Associate in Fine Arts (AFA), Associate in Engineering Science (AES), or Associate in Applied Science (AAS) with a 2.0 cumulative GPA.

LLCC Transfer Agreement

Upon successful completion of an AA, AS, AFA, or AES degree and the appropriate relevant coursework from LLCC transfer students with a 2.0 cumulative GPA can complete the following programs in two years (four semesters) at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ: 

Accounting, Art, Agribusiness, Applied Statistics, Arts Technology, Art Therapy, Arts Administration, Athletic Training (3+2), Biochemistry, Biology, Business Communication, Chemistry, Commercial Music, Communication, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, Elementary Education, Engineering Science, English Studies, English Education, English Writing, Environmental Studies, Exercise Science, Finance, History, Graphic Design, Management, Management Info Systems, Mathematics, Multimedia Communication, Music (requires audition), Music Business, Organizational Leadership, Physical Education, Political Science, Sociology, Sport & Recreation Management, and Theatre.  

Transfer students

β€œWith this agreement, students have an opportunity to start here at LLCC and earn an associate degree with us, while also having a four-year plan and automatic acceptance into ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ to earn a bachelor’s degree,” said Dr. Charlotte Warren, LLCC President. β€œLLCC is committed to our community and our students’ success, providing clear paths for transfer as students continue their academic journey and providing opportunities to study, grow and contribute to a vibrant economy.”

Lincoln Land Community College students transferring to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ with a completed AA, AS, AFA, AES, or AAS degree will have satisfied 100% of their University Studies requirements and can complete their ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ bachelor’s degree in two years, provided they are enrolled full-time (12-18 credits per semester). 

Students who have successfully met the LLCC Honors Program requirements are guaranteed automatic acceptance into the James ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Honors Scholars Program upon application. This agreement is effective for the 2024-25 academic year.

Big Blue Pledge

Lincoln Land Community College students can also take advantage of the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Tuition Promise and Big Blue Pledge: Illinois Free Tuition Program, which began in the fall of 2024. The ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Tuition Promise provides a reduced tuition rate of $26,000 for all full-time traditional undergraduate students. Students can then anticipate an annual inflationary tuition rate increase of less than 4% (at $1,000) each year in the future.  

The Big Blue Pledge: Illinois Free Tuition Program represents an investment in Illinois students who may lack the financial options necessary to pursue a private college education and will cover 100% of their undergraduate tuition with ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ grants and scholarships, filling the gap after available state and federal grants. 

To qualify for the Big Blue Pledge, students must:

- submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 

- be an Illinois resident (as determined by the FAFSA); 

- be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant; and 

- be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester) as a traditional undergraduate student at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ.
